The meeting/presentation was filmed and will be aired on channel 21, on Sept. 21st @ 10pm and again on Sept. 23rd @ 5:30pm. I hope you are able to watch it, but if not we hope to have the video put on the CAPP website.

We are incouraged by your support and hope that you continue to try to attend the CAPP meetings. We are planning another meeting to start identifying possible trail corridors at the end of October. Check the website and your email for the date and time of the meeting.

Also, if you haven't already please sign the guest book on the CAPP home page so that we can send you meeting updates and trail info.

thanks again,
Angela Harms, RLA

The meeting introduced BREC's CAPP project and featured Ed McBrayer, exec. dir. of PATH Foundation, talking about what they've done developing greenways in Atlanta.

You're not the only one who would love to see the lakes area near LSU connected to Perkins Park. A greenway along Bayou DuPlantier would be a great way to do this. It has been proposed before, but was opposed by neighborhood association representatives who played on fears that it would increase crime. McBrayer said these fears often come up, but they're contradicted by all the evidence: having more people around actually discourages crime, and it's hard to carry a stolen TV on a bike.

I wasn't able to go to the meeting the other night and I haven't seen anything about it in the media. Would someone post some information about what was discussed? Is the presentation available on-line? I'm really interested in this and think it's a great project. I'm particularly interested in connecting City Park/LSU/the lakes to Perkins Road Park. Hopefully by the time the extreme park is built.
Thanks.
